2018 Summer Lab School

INFO/ELIGIBILITY

The Lab School is a pilot immersion (no English) program that will take place over the summer for 6 weeks from June 25th-August 2nd.  The focus is on language acquisition by whole families.  This is a collaborative effort between the Language Program, Head Start, TANF, and WVC.  The Lab School will be hosted in the Nespelem Head Start center with one language per classroom.  It is open to all families who are interested in participating, with preference given to TANF families.  In order to qualify, you must have one child who is Head Start age.  If your child is entering or leaving Head Start this upcoming academic year, your family qualifies.  Parent/guardian participation is mandatory and children cannot be left at Lab School without a parent/guardian.  Classes for Early Childhood Education Certification available for those interested in pursuing a career in working with children in the language.  Language credits available through WVC.  In addition to the packet (click on the link below flyer), please submit a letter of interest to the Colville Tribal Language Program by May 31st, 2018 by mail or email  cree.whelshula.lan@colvilletribes.com
